BLOOD BROTHERS -- AUDITIONS
The musical “Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers” will be performed by the Greater Hamilton Civic Theatre in October. Auditions will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tues., Aug. 5 or Wed., Aug. 6 at The Creative Center at the Palace, 215 S. Third St., Hamilton. Actors should prepare to sing one minute of a Broadway song and will read from a script.
The following positions are sought:
Narrator, age 25-50, tenor
Mickey, age 18-35, baritone
Eddie, age 18-35, tenor
Mrs. Johnstone, age 30-45, alto
Mrs. Lyons, age 30-45, alto
Linda, age 18-35, alto
Sammy, age 18-35, non-singing
Mr. Lyons, age 30-50, baritone
Ensemble, all ages 16 and older, all types
Rehearsals for the show will be Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in the evening beginning Aug. 17. It will be directed by Ryan Heinrich and produced by Erin Heinrich and Rhonda Lucas.
THE SOUND OF MUSIC -- AUDITIONS
Auditions for "The Sound of Music," produced by Tracy Botos and Joellyn Goos, and directed by Kevin Brunck, are set for the following times:
2 p.m. Sun., Aug. 24 (youth ages 5-15)
6:30 p.m. Mon., Aug. 25 (youth ages 5-15)
7 p.m. Tues., Sept. 2 (ages 16 and older)
7 p.m. Wed., Sept. 3 (ages 16 and older)
Auditions will be conducted at The Creative Center at the Palace, the home of the Greater Hamilton Civic Theatre. The address is 215 S. Third St., Hamilton.
-- The role of the Mother Abbess has been pre-cast. It will be played by Bess-Arlene Camacho.
-- The roles of the younger children (Friedrich, Louisa, Brigitta, Kurt, Marta & Gretl) will be double cast to create two casts of children.
-- Children and adults should prepare one song in a musical theater style. Singing a song from the show is acceptable. There are several supporting roles which will not require a vocal audition.
-- Piano accompaniment as well as CD playback will be available for the auditions.
-- Please bring a complete list of conflict dates from mid-September through early December.
-- The production will begin rehearsals the week of Sept. 8.
-- There will be no rehearsals the week of Sept. 15 through Sept. 21, they will resume the week of Sept. 22.
-- We will rehearse three nights per week, September through October. We will rehearse four nights per week in November. There will be no rehearsals Nov. 26, 27, 28 and 29.
-- The specific days of the week we rehearse will be determined after the show is cast.
-- The show will be performed at Parrish Auditorium on the Hamilton Campus of Miami University on Dec. 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.
